What is the Enterprise Europe Network?
Launched in 2008 by the European Commission, the Enterprise Europe Network offers concrete and effective solutions to entrepreneurs and companies in more than 45 countries. The network combines and builds on the former Innovation Relay Centers and Euro Info Centers (established in 1995 and 1987 respectively). The new integrated Network offers a “one-stop shop” to meet all the information needs of SMEs and companies in Europe.
Instruments include business partner search within technology and business cooperation databases and fast access to information on funding opportunities, individual on-site visits to companies to assess their needs and a broad range of promotion and information material. Representatives of the Network can also help businesses understand EU law, how it applies to their business and how to make the most the internal market and EU programs.
The Enterprise Europe Network fully exploits the synergies between all support services and helpdesks aimed at European businesses. The “one-stop shop” service is accompanied by a “no wrong door” policy: an entrepreneur or business actor can enter the Network through any contact point, and will then be assisted and personally directed to the relevant service or organization.
paintistanbul 2010 – Paint Industry & Auxiliary Products Congress & Exhibition
“Paint Industry and Auxiliary Products Congress and Exhibition / paintistanbul 2010” will be organised between 23-26 September 2010 with the contributions of sectoral institutions and establishments. In this promising melting pot, connecting Europe and Asia, paint producers, raw material suppliers, equipment manufacturers, service providers, leading representatives of the universities and institutions will come together.
The congress will cover the following sectoral subjects: paint, varnish, ink, paint raw materials and auxiliary products, new paint types, technological developments and paint application methods used in the industry.
The congress programme and activities are organised in order to meet the expectations of the universities, research institutes, and paint and raw material producers and for the representatives of the integrated sectors, e.g. construction, furniture, metal, automotive, white goods, ship building and other relevant industries.
Why the matchmaking event is in parallel with the paintistanbul 2010?
Enterprise Europe Network Istanbul, together with BOSAD, The Turkish Association of Paint Industry, aims to organize a b2b event for making collaboration in the international area, in particular with the European countries.
The paint industry displays international achievements within versatile development dynamics and new growth targets. Therefore, Sabanci University and BOSAD are planning to organise an ideal activity ensuring all participants and visitors coming from different countries to share these opportunities, create new business relations and develop their businesses.
In terms of its structure and strength, Turkey is currently the 6th biggest paint producer in Europe. Total manufacturing capacity of Turkish paint industry is 800,000 tons/year and capacity utilization is at 65% level. According to these figures, Turkish paint industry holds some 2% share in the global market. Turkey’s total paint market, as of year 2008, is estimated at approximately 2 billion US Dollars.
Within this expanding market image, Turkish paint industry keeps its status as a new production area for foreign capital investors, especially from EU countries.

The EEN – Istanbul’s, International Technology transfer matchmaking event will be organized by “Sabanci University” with the co-partnership of “ISO, Istanbul Chamber of Industry” and “KOSGEB, Directorate for the Development of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises".
The Technology Transfer matchmaking event will be organized in Istanbul - Turkey, at Istanbul Congress Centre “New Exhibition & Congress Complex” on September 25, 2010.
Participation to the congress requires separate registration from the following website (www.paintistanbul.com). The registration fee for the conference is 200€.
Registration to conference is not compulsory for participating in the matchmaking event. The matchmaking event will be free of charge.
